EVENTS & RETREATS

untitled-7resized.jpg

Throughout the year we offer many different retreats & events.  Our facilities are also the perfect place for you or your organization to host your own, tailor-made event or that special weekend away.

Women’s Restorative Retreat

Embracing stillness & wonder seems to be something only children know how to do.  Join us, as we take the time to slow down, set aside our phones, & dig into our inner selves through thoughtfully engaging art lessons, a digital wellness course, mindfulness tasting, & a guided, meditative nature walk. Twice a year we host the Women’s Restorative Retreat where six women & two hosts gather to rest, encourage, & grow.  Each woman has her own room in Lucy’s Lodge. Join us for this significant weekend to discover how to relax & destress the body, strengthen your sense of purpose, & improve cognitive function by clearing the mind through nature immersion.  All meals are freshly prepared & served family style. Menus are subject to change based on seasonal availability. Accommodations are available for food allergies or dietary restrictions.  We proudly serve Castello di Amorosa wines that have been personally tasted & selected.

Dates & Ticket information can be found via our Store.

TEA accredits this course for 14 hours of CPE.

“The reflection questions really helped me to dig into where I am right now.”

“I appreciated the pampering/ thoughtfulness & how intentional every detail was.”

“I have been holding on so tightly to this. It was such a blessing.  When I got home, I made a tech box & have been trying to disconnect more.  I have also been meditating on my back porch every day & it has been a game-changer I didn’t even know I needed. I feel like the retreat was a complete reset.”  Lauren

Weddings

Are you looking for an intimate, private location to have your wedding, but want to keep friends and family close by? Then Stillwater Refuge is the place for you.  We have wide-open pastures, woodland, and oak groves for that special wedding ceremony .  Book Lucy’s Lodge, Deer Run Cabin, & the Bunkhouse to house immediate family & friends.

“We both unanimously agreed that we wanted to feel completely secluded & without distraction.  The idea of it being just us, a few witnesses, creation, & God to watch as we joined in the covenant was what we based our preferences around. It reminded my husband of the place where he used to hike & pray (in South Africa).”

We value the covenant that couples make and the need to grow in communication & intimacy because two are better than one.  God built you and your spouse not only to love one another but to also advance His kingdom more effectively.  Maybe you are looking to host a wedding retreat for your church group or friends.  Let us help you plan the right event.

Youth Outings

Youth Outings

We believe that the most effective way to change the face of this nation is to intercept our youth with the amazing love of Jesus Christ - not steep them in religion.  One of the best ways we’ve found to accomplish this is to get young men & women into nature, off of their devices, and explore God’s creation while engaging others in face-to-face conversation.

Weekend Youth Hunts

Youth Ministries and/or church groups bring small groups of youth to the ranch, during whitetail deer season, for an opportunity to harvest whitetail does.  These trips offer an excellent opportunity to work on outdoor skills, learn firearm safety and proficiency, explore the woods, engage in meaningful conversation around the campfire, and hopefully take home a bounty of fresh venison to share with family and friends.

Trade-Days

Youth Ministries and/or Church Youth Groups are invited to come barter with us!  Youth and their adult sponsors are welcome to visit the ranch and participate in work projects around the property or service projects in our local community.  We trade their hard work for fun outdoor activities such as swimming, fishing, kayaking, or nature walks and finish the day with a simple lunch together. Overnight trips can be organized to fit your group's needs.

Camp-Outs

On a flat area along the bank of our lake, around a large fire pit, Youth Ministries and/or church group can bring their youth to tent camp.  This is an opportune and cheaper way to get your group even further immersed in nature.  Unlimited swimming, fishing, and exploration are included. There are no bathroom facilities, but port-a-potties can be furnished upon request for an additional fee.

Missions

Over the last twenty years we have had the privilege to work alongside & serve missionaries in various countries.  Our idea of rest & recuperation extends beyond our free ranch stays, to loving acts of service based on what each missionary or missionary family needs.  We have worked on vehicles in Haiti & Uganda, offered pre-marital classes in Mongolia, helped send material & drill a water well in Honduras, & even done art projects & babysitting for moms abroad in several countries.  Our first goal is to serve the long-term missionary in practical, at-the-moment needs, for them to be refreshed & revitalized.  Our second goal is to connect others who want to support or serve missionaries with the ministry opportunity that fits their gifting, no matter their age. Let us know where you’d like to help be a part or go on a trip.
